Brooklyn Bridge, and South Street sea port seen from Pier 11.
Just beyond you can see the Manhattan Bridge, as well as the Williamsburg Bridge.
Love the city at night.

Day 245 - Black Friday

I slept late today
(recovering from my 10 hour Thanksgiving party last night)
and was not about to brave the crowds of the black Friday craze.
Anyway,
I still experienced "black Friday" when I walked outside to discover a dark, cold day.
Ahh... such is the winter in NYC!

I had such an amazing Thanksgiving.
I hosted, and cooked (both for the first time!)
The six of us indulged in amazing food, wine, and conversations.
Here was my view (sans 1 guest) while playing scrabble.

Day 243 - Lighted Trees

As I braved the crowded grocery store the day before Thanksgiving, I noticed that the Time Warner Center is already getting ready for Christmas by lighting the trees outside.

Day 240 - MCNY

Today I visited the Museum of the City of New York.
There was an interesting exhibit on the waterfront/skylines of NYC and how its changes have affected the city throughout the years.
But, wow, what a beautiful building this museum is housed in, and being right off 5th Ave, just steps from the park, what a perfect location, too.

Day 239 - Pots

I've planted two teeny tiny plants hoping they will grow into two bigger holiday jewels.
One miniature Spruce/Christmas tree, and one "blanket of snow".
I'm not sure how it will turn out, seeing as how I bought them for only $1 each,
but I will certainly enjoy watching them grow, if/when they do!

Day 238 - the Metronome

This art installation, created in 1999, stands on the Southeast side of Union Square.
Apparently, it is a clock, and the numbers constantly changing actually do mean something.
From what I can find, you read it first from the left, the first 6 numbers telling you the time, and then from right to left, the last six number telling you how long until midnight.
And as far as the 3 numbers in the between, I guess they're just random.
so... according to that way of reading the clock,
what time did I take the picture?
and how much time was left until midnight?
